Established in 2005, One4Kids is The One Solution Group’s registered charity (number SC036927) that has raised over £600,000 since its inception. The costs of the charity are fully met by the Group; that enables us to donate 100% of the money raised directly to those in need. So, give a pound and a pound goes straight into the hands of a child.
Why One 4 Kids? Well, One Solution is a company that takes its corporate social responsibility very seriously. In other words, we have a social conscience.
But what does that mean? Firstly, it means that we aim to take responsibility for our actions as a company. We encourage a positive impact through our activities on our clients, employees, the local and wider communities – in fact, all of our stakeholders.
As Mahatma Ghandi recognized, ‘Commerce without morality’ is a social sin’.
Secondly, and closer to home – the charity is an opportunity to enrich our staff’s experience. To enable staff to challenge themselves, do something new, have the experience of their lives and build lifelong relationships based on unique, shared experiences.
All that whilst genuinely helping others.
So, One 4 Kids is an important and exciting part of our business that we aim to share with our families, friends, clients and others close to the business.
One Solution Group is a collective of talented, dedicated, conscientious individuals. One 4 Kids is a mechanism by which we can harness some of those positives for the benefit of local and international communities. Where we can all ‘do our little bit’ towards helping children and their families in need.
So, what does O4K actually do?
Fundraising challenges, events, a volunteer programme…
Each year we commit to a number of exciting fundraising activities to support charities at home and overseas. Everything from climbing Kilimanjaro, taking on a jungle challenge in Borneo, running a marathon in the Grand Canyon, mountain biking in a Himalayan Challenge to adventures in the beautiful landscapes of Scotland such as Arran and Lairig Ghru and events in our head office in Glasgow.
As well as fundraising challenges, we run a volunteer programme. In 2012, eight employees and two long-standing clients embarked on a volunteer programme in Vietnam that included classroom based activities working with 250 children as well as building a house in Rach Gia.
We have supported numerous charities since 2005 including The Children’s Hospice Association for Scotland (CHAS), the Ruda Foundation in Namanditi where we helped to fund the School of Excellence Project and provided pristine, new school uniforms for every student, the Tunahaki Foundation in Tanzania and the Catalyst Foundation in Vietnam.
