In general terms a mentor is someone who:

  • Discusses possible solutions to difficulties
  • Shares their experience and knowledge
  • Helps another to stay on track and reach their goals

Mentoring can be a formal or less formal arrangement as agreed by those involved.  Meetings are usually  weekly, for an hour or so but the approach is flexible.
